Project Redirect is a community-based diversion program for individuals at risk of incarceration. It provides trauma-informed support, life skills education, and connections to local resources that promote long-term stability and prevent jail entry.
- Serving 60 people per year for $43,000, Project Redirect costs a fraction of incarceration—just $717 per person.
- For every $1 invested, the program generates an estimated $42 in community savings.
Participants engage in decision-making workshops, develop personal growth strategies, and receive support securing housing, employment, and essential services.
Project Redirect is a collaboration between Red Tent and key community stakeholders, including the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, State Attorney, local judges, and organizations like Dress for Success Tampa Bay and the James B. Sanderlin Neighborhood Family Center. Additional partnerships are being developed to meet the diverse needs of our participants.
